PUBLIC SPEAKING

All students are encouraged to take part in the program.

It is an excellent opportunity for children to practise their speaking skills and watch others do the same. The program is not designed as a competition but rather an opportunity for students to ‘have a go’ and gain confidence in speaking in front of a larger audience.

Year 6 has the added element of competition in this process as they prepare to participate in the Cluster and Diocesan Public Speaking events. Each student will receive a certificate of achievement.

Allocated Time for Speeches:

Kindergarten and Year 1 – 1 minute

Years 2, 3, 4 – 1 ½ to 2 minutes

Year 5 – 2 to 2 ½ minutes

Year 6 – 3 minutes
