Facilities

Classrooms

There are seven classrooms at St Philip Neri Catholic School, comprising one class of each year group from Kindergarten to Year 6. The classrooms were all totally refurbished in 2012 and each room has carpeting on the floors and a wet area with tiles and a sink. The school also has a Music Room where the students experience a lesson each week with a specialist music teacher.

ICLT

Information Communication and Learning Technologies (ICLT) is valued at St Philip Neri Catholic School. The school has computers (desktops and laptops) in each classroom. The students also use iPads and Chromebooks and 2019 saw the introduction of BYODD for Years 5 & 6. All classrooms are equipped with interactive whiteboards.

Playground and Amphitheatre

There are two main playground areas at St Philip Neri Catholic School. The upper playground level is a large asphalt area that has a full-sized basketball court. The lower playground level is a large asphalt area with handball courts and various playground games marked out.

A contemporary developmental play space was recently completed in our amphitheatre area. It includes a sandpit, dry creek bed, tunnels and sensory activities. The amphitheatre area has a surface of artificial turf to enable the students an all-weather surface for passive play. There is also an area with playground equipment that includes slippery slides and equipment for climbing and balancing.

The amphitheatre is also an area where the school community congregates for assembly times.

Library/Learning Centre

St Philip Neri Catholic School has a library, which is also known as the Learning Centre. There is a large selection of books and learning resources available for students to borrow. Students experience a dedicated library lesson each week with the school librarian and can also access the library during their lunch hour and with their class teachers when the library is available. Our Library was recently transformed into a more flexible learning space that can be used by all our students for many modes of learning. This transformation included the installation of a new high definition, touch projection screen with surround sound bar, new shelving and desks for the children.

Parish Hall

We have access to the Parish Hall during school hours. This is a great facility for sporting activities such as Gymnastics and Dance. We also use it for school assemblies, meetings and hospitality.

St Philip Neri Church

St Philip Neri Church is attached to the school grounds and allows our school community easy access to a sacred space for worship and reflection. It also places our school in the context of the wider parish community.
