St Philip Neri Feast Day

28/05/2018

Location: St Philip Neri

On Monday May 28 at 9:15am, we will be having a St Philip Neri’s Feast Day Mass. You are welcome to attend and celebrate the wonderful man who was St Philip Neri. For those of you who don’t know much about this special saint, who is our patron saint, here are a few facts:

  • Losing no time in converting good conversation to good actions, Philip would lead his followers to hospitals to wait on the sick or to the Church, to pray to and encounter Jesus Christ.
  • Philip, compared to Socrates, had a knack for starting up conversations and leading his listeners to consider a new and better way of life, the Christian Way. He easily caught others’ attention with his warm personality and incredible sense of humour.
  • In short, Philip was an evangelist. He loved to share the Gospel and help people to find or rediscover their faith in Jesus Christ.

St Philip Neri left us a valuable legacy, “Deeds not Words”, our school motto, a lifelong goal for all of us to follow.

The students will enjoy a pizza lunch to celebrate St Philp Neri’s Feast Day and after lunch activities in the classroom will top off a fun day for all.
