This term, Year Six have been learning about different Australian artists including Sidney Nolan, Minnie Pwerle, Margaret Preston and Shaun Tan. Last Friday, we enjoyed a visit to the Art Gallery of NSW where our two guides, took us on a guided tour of the Australian art section. Students discussed the possible meanings of the art works, identified the mediums used and also had an opportunity to make a unique artwork of their own. Our guides both commended our students for their insightful comments and good behaviour. Students also enjoyed lunch at the Botanical Gardens before returning to spend time viewing artworks by other notable artists.
