Year 2 Excursion – Schoolhouse Museum

On Thursday 14 June the Year 2 students visited the very popular Schoolhouse Museum in North Ryde to learn more about the life of students in the past (HSIE Topic: The Past & The Present).
They participated in 1880-1900’s school activities such as using ink writing tools and slate boards to practise letters, drill exercises, Maypole dancing and traditional outdoor games like skipping, fly & quoits. They also got to enjoy toasting & eating bread with Golden Syrup as well as an artefact scavenger hunt.

The wonderful weather, the costumes worn by the students and our parent helpers made this day extra special. A special mention goes out to the Year 2 students who were told by the Schoolhouse Museum instructors that they were a beautiful and well-mannered class. We are so proud of their behaviour on the day. They truly displayed our Positive Behaviour for Learning rules. Well done Year 2!
